Hope everyone had a great week. For those going to Widespread Panic and other live shows this weekend, have fun and be safe on the roads. For those at the beach, be careful with those rip tides brought on by Hurricane Lee. Best to have a floatation device like a long one that you can ride on. Seriously, be careful out there. And…if you do go surfing, send us a sunrise or surfing pic and we’ll post in an issue.

FDA panel could be yanking cold meds off the shelf

(NEWSSOURCE) FDA Panel said phenylephrine, a commonly used decongestant, doesn't work. Phenylephrine is an ingredient found in many cold meds including Sudafed, Allegra, Dayquil/Nyquil, Robitussin, Theraflu, Mucinex, Benadryl, Advil and much more. Next steps could include removing these medications off of pharmacy and grocery shelves.

North Carolina fishermen will have a chance to hook flounder for 2 weeks

[Star News] The N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries set the 2023 recreational flounder season for Sept. 15-29.

This season is half the length of the 2022 season, which lasted from Sept. 1-30. The 2021 season was adjusted as part of a sustainability effort. There was no spring flounder season in 2023.
