Keep an eye out for rip currents if you go to the beach this week!

US National Weather Service Wilmington: A building east swell will maintain an elevated rip current risk for east facing beaches through (at least) the end of the week. A high risk of rip currents is expected for Pender, New Hanover & Georgetown county beaches Wednesday through Friday, with moderate rip risk for Horry. A Spanish-built replica of the 16th-Century tall ship Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan captained during the first circumnavigation of the world. The vessel will dock at London Wharf on the Riverfront in Downtown Wilmington, NC, where it will be open for public tours, from June 19 through June 23, 2024.
