Planet Fitness Extends Free Summer Gym Membership Offer to High School Students

[WECT] Planet Fitness offers free summer gym memberships to high school students aged 14 to 19 from June 1 to August 31. Teens can sign up online or at a Planet Fitness location, with parental consent required for those under 18. The offer includes access to the gym and requires downloading the Planet Fitness app for a digital club pass.

Investigation Underway: Fish Kill at Greenfield Lake Sparks Concern

[WWAY] Cape Fear River Watch and UNCW's Aquatic Ecology Lab are investigating a fish kill at Greenfield Lake. Low oxygen levels in the water are suspected, possibly due to algae blooms or runoff pollutants. Further tests will determine if toxins are present, with results expected by Friday
