TUESDAYS TOGETHER WITH YOU

Good Morning Wilmington!

As I mentioned in yesterday’s issue, I went to several grocery stores over the weekend. Here are a few things I learned about Aldi’s:

  • Aldi’s owners are related to the owners of Trader Joe’s

  • Bring a quarter to use the cart at Aldi’s and give the cart to someone when you’re done shopping. It might just make their day.

  • Use the boxes at Aldi’s. They’re better than bags anyway as they will keep groceries from flying around in your car.

  • Aldi’s will likely have the best price on milk vs. competitors

  • Great things to get at Aldi’s $$-wise include: chocolate, produce, cheeses, milk, chips, salsa & spices

New Hanover Board of Education Policy & Town Hall Meeting from OCT 17

New Hanover Board of Education held a policy meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 17. This one-hour meeting appears to be a closed to the public where limited board members handled mundane policy details. What seems to be more interesting is the Town Hall Meeting on School Culture and providing a supportive environment for teachers, students and staff.

School personnel and interested members of the community were asked to participate in this Town Hall Meeting. This event engaged three tables in a breakout session format. Each of the conversations were recorded. This offers great insight on how members of the public, staff members and our board members feel about our education system. Worth a listen and kudos to the participants that volunteered to participate in this exercise!
