TUESDAYS TOGETHER WITH YOU

Good Morning Wilmington!

A few more things I learned while running around getting groceries this past weekend:

  • Teeter Policy — When you see buy one, get one free or 2 for 1, you don’t have to buy the 2 items for the discount…that is UNLESS it’s an odd number like buy two and get one free or buy 3 and get five, etc. 🤔

  • Unless there’s a really good sale @Harris Teeter you’ll spend a significantly less @Food Lion

  • Food Lion makes their own chips and they are very good as long as they are fresh. Check the date before you buy. Every ten days they make fresh chips.

  • I was once told by a food distributer not to go anywhere else than Publix for deli meat

National News:

  • Yesterday Michael Cohen faced Donald Trump in New York as he testified against him in fraud trial.

  • Yesterday I woke up realizing I had to adjust the Bitcoin price in my email because it had risen $4,000 since the night before. The email sent while I was still editing.

  • Donald Trump’s 2020 lawyer, Jenna Ellis pleads guilty in Georgia election case

  • House Majority Whip Tom Emmer dropped out of the Speaker race

  • More US Ships heading towards Israel along with 2,000 troops. It’s not easy to figure out how many are already there.

Marines, NCIS investigating TikTok video claiming body buried at Camp Lejeune

The Marine Corps and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) are currently investigating a video posted on TikTok in which a man claims to have helped bury a body at Camp Lejeune. The video, which was shared four days ago, alleges that a sergeant and two other Marines buried the body of a "biker dude" who was killed after a fight outside a nightspot in Sneads Ferry. The man in the video described their attempt to dispose of the body, mentioning a seldom-used landing zone on the base as the burial site, without specifying when the incident occurred. The Onslow County Sheriff noted that minimal assistance has been provided, and further information must come from NCIS or the Marine Corps.

Statewide Halloween “Booze It & Lose It” Campaign

In North Carolina, law enforcement is increasing patrols and implementing checkpoints for the annual Halloween "Booze It & Lose It" campaign, running from now through October 31. The initiative aims to address the heightened risk of impaired drivers during Halloween celebrations. The community is urged to use designated drivers, ride-sharing services, or other safe transportation options to prevent alcohol-related accidents.
