UNCW’s Soaring Seahawk statue will move to the Hoggard Lawn tomorrow morning.
According to UNCW, traffic will be affected along Wagoner Drive as crews work to move it, and the UNCW police will be managing traffic control.
It is expected to be moved between 8 and 9 a.m.

MUST SEE: Brookgreen Gardens’ Night of a Thousand Candles
It’s not easy to plan for the holidays when we are still in August but if you want to tour one of the very Best Holiday Light Events in the United States, you will need to purchase tickets way in advance to Brookgreen Garden. This display is spectacular in every way and considering that it’s less than two hours from here, you owe it to yourself and your family to make a visit!
Brookgreen Gardens’ is located in Murrel’s Inlet near Myrtle Beach.
The self-guided walking tours run from 4PM until 9PM and run $35 for adults and $17 for children 4-12 years old. Free admission for children under 3. The first tour date is NOV 30 and the final is JAN 5. Some tickets have already sold out.

Fins Up Festival: Music, Fun, and More on Sept. 1!
[WECT] Wrightsville Beach is celebrating its 125th birthday with the Fins Up Festival on Labor Day Sunday, Sept. 1, at Waterman’s Brewing Co. The event, honoring the late Jimmy Buffett, will feature live music from The Moto’s and Captain Mike and the Shipwrecked, exhibitions by watersport and environmental groups, and a Marshal Morgan Project showing. Attendees can also participate in raffles, a silent auction, and benefit a nonprofit. The festival runs from 3 to 10 p.m.
