Happy Labor Day Weekend!

TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, fellow Wilmingtonians!
Hope everyone faired well from the storm– I know our local surfers did!

As we welcome another Friday with open arms, we're not just celebrating the anticipation of the weekend's arrival, but we're also tipping our hats to the historical rhythms of Labor Day weekend. Originating as a nod to the achievements of workers and their contributions, it's fitting that we're about to dive into a long weekend that celebrates both hard-earned leisure and the vibrant beat of our community. So, let's set aside the workweek's routine and embrace the symphony of fantastic live music, laughter, and well-deserved relaxation that awaits us in the next three days! 🎵🌟

LOCAL NEWS

Surfers take advantage of storm

As tropical storm Idalia approached the NC Coast–beachgoers were urged to stay out of the water due to dangerous rip currents and high tides. However, despite these warnings, surfers have been drawn to the beaches to ride the waves ahead of the storm. Lifeguards and authorities emphasize that this is not a safe time for water activities. Skilled surfers have ventured out, aware of safety protocols, but with the storm's approach, fewer individuals are in the water, recognizing the increasing risks as conditions deteriorate.
