While we experience that perfect weather that follows tropical weather it’s important to remember that Carolina Beach and areas south are still dealing with extreme flooding from an unnamed storm. Listen to Sheila Marshall tell WECT: “I’ve lived here forever, and it has never, ever, ever flooded like this before.”

BREAKING NEWS:

Dye Study in Cape Fear River to Enhance Shellfish Safety and Emergency Readiness

[WECT] The NC Division of Marine Fisheries and the FDA will conduct a dye study in the Cape Fear River on Sept. 18 to simulate the flow of treated wastewater from the Carolina Beach Wastewater Treatment Plant. The dye, which may cause red or pink water, helps determine shellfish closure areas to protect public health. The non-hazardous dye is EPA-approved.

NC DOT Addresses Flood Damage to 100+ Roads in Southeastern NC

[WECT] The North Carolina Department of Transportation is addressing road closures and damage caused by recent flooding in southeastern NC. Several inches of rain earlier this week caused over 100 roads to close, with infrastructure damage across the region.
