Skyline Center Upgrades Approved, Despite Council Dispute Over Budget Timing

[Port City Daily] Wilmington City Council approved a $6.3 million contract with Monteith Construction to upgrade its headquarters at the Skyline Center, despite concerns from one council member. The upgrades include a customer service center, planning counter, and new council chambers. The funding sources include FEMA reimbursements and city reserves, but critics, like Councilman Luke Waddell, argue that it's premature to move forward without reviewing the upcoming budget.
