[WWAY] The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher is about to receive a stunning $65 million transformation—the largest upgrade in more than two decades. Set to begin this fall, the multi-year expansion will feature the state’s biggest shark habitat, a live coral reef, a hands-on touch pool, an education center with outdoor learning spaces, and even a rooftop sky deck. Aquarium officials say the project isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s a leap toward innovative conservation and educational experiences.
