The council will also discuss fossil fuel-free investment amendments, HVAC upgrades at the Riverwalk Visitors Center, and recognize both city staff and Wilmington 101 graduates. New City Manager Rebecca Hawke and Interim Police Chief Ralph Evangelous will be sworn in during the session.

Governor Stein Signs Bill Making NC Schools Phone-Free Zones

The legislation, set to take effect in the upcoming school year, aims to eliminate classroom distractions, support teachers, and give students a much-needed break from social media. Supporters argue this move will foster deeper focus and engagement in learning environments across the state.
