Good morning Wilmington!

Today’s the big day we’ve been talking about for so long. It’s hard to believe it’s here and both sides are claiming this is the most important election of our time—though we hear that every year! They might be right this time! At least in my lifetime, I’ve never seen the two parties so polarized. Whatever happens, I’m hoping it can be decided quickly and with dignity, as it has nearly every single election cycle before 2020. If you haven’t done so already–go out and vote. 

I spoke to a woman at Ogden Elementary who said that the voting line went out around the corner of the building around 6:30 AM this morning.

Amazon’s new series The Runarounds is casting background actors in Wilmington, NC! Kimmie Stewart Casting is looking for trendy, NYC-style execs and fans for filming on Nov. 4-7, offering $110 per day. Extras of all genders, races, and ages 15-45 can apply.

USS North Carolina Unveils New Lighting in Time for Veteran’s Day

[WECT] The USS North Carolina Battleship is set to debut a new lighting display, “Light the Legacy,” just in time for Veteran’s Day weekend. Developed by IlluminFX and funded by the Friends of the Battleship North Carolina and the Kirkpatrick Foundation, the system will subtly illuminate the ship’s superstructure, enhancing its evening visibility along the Riverwalk. The lighting display will be viewable on Nov. 8, beginning at 5:30 p.m., providing an evening showcase to honor veterans and delight both locals and visitors.
