New Grocery Option Coming to Oleander Drive: Tropicana Supermarket

[WWAY] Tropicana Supermarkets, a North Carolina-based grocery chain known for its diverse international selection, is opening a new store in Wilmington. The location—its seventh in the state—will be in the former Toys ‘R’ Us building on Oleander Drive. The family-owned business plans to offer meats, fresh produce, and specialty items from around the globe. They're currently in the permitting process with the city.

Opa! Wilmington Greek Festival Returns with Food, Dance, and Culture

[Saint Nicholas] The Wilmington Greek Festival returns May 16–18 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, offering traditional food, music, dancing, and cultural experiences. Attendees can explore a vibrant marketplace, watch cooking demos, and enjoy a festive atmosphere—or opt for the convenient drive-thru. The festival runs Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Entry is $5 for adults; kids 12 and under get in free.
