PCP Tue Jul 8: Grilled, Thrilled & Fireworked Out—Now Back to It

Grateful for good friends, loud fireworks, and a city full of summer fun.

Good morning Wilmington!

Here’s to the grill masters, firework fanatics, and generous neighbors who made the 4th unforgettable. Whether you hosted or spectated, Wilmington lit up this weekend—and I’m feeling lucky to live in a town where the community shines just as brightly as the fireworks.

Major Boost for AI Manufacturing: Jabil Picks NC Over Florida for New Facility

[WRAL] Jabil Inc., a global electronics manufacturer, will invest $500 million to build a new manufacturing facility in Rowan County, NC—creating nearly 1,200 jobs by 2030. The facility will support the booming demand for AI and cloud computing data centers. With positions averaging $62,000 per year, the project is expected to significantly boost the region’s economy. North Carolina edged out Florida to secure the project, offering more than $21 million in state and local incentives. The state’s pro-growth strategy and existing infrastructure helped seal the deal.

UNCW's Cameron School Seeks Mentors to Shape the Next Generation of Business Leaders

[WilmingtonBiz] UNCW’s Cameron School of Business is actively recruiting local business leaders to join its Cameron Executive Network (CEN) — a mentorship program that pairs professionals with junior and senior business students. Mentors help students strengthen leadership skills, build resumes, and prep for interviews, while also offering guidance on job searches and internships. The program also includes networking events, mock interviews, and speaking opportunities. Many mentors report the experience is just as rewarding for them as it is for the students. CEN is open to business professionals with at least eight years of experience and a willingness to meet with mentees regularly throughout the semester.
