Leland Welcomes Sandbar Oyster Company’s Eco-Friendly Expansion
[SOURCE] Sandbar Oyster Company has opened a new manufacturing facility in Leland, NC, to produce its innovative Oyster Catcher product. The structures promote oyster reef growth, combat coastal erosion, and support marine habitats. The company plans to employ 12 people, with recruitment focusing on local talent from marine-focused programs. The move aligns with Leland's economic goals to attract marine biology and life sciences industries, highlighting the town's commitment to sustainable development and business growth.

North Carolina to Set Limits on PFOS, PFOA, and GenX by 2025
[WECT] North Carolina is moving to establish permanent groundwater standards for three PFAS chemicals: PFOS, PFOA, and GenX. The new limits would cap allowable concentrations from discharges into land or water, taking effect on July 1, 2025, if approved by the Environmental Management Commission. Two public hearings are scheduled:
Dec. 2 in Wilmington

Dec. 3 in Raleigh
6 p.m. at the Ground Floor Hearing Room, Archdale Building, 512 N. Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC 27604
