Good morning Wilmington!
Milton made his way across Florida last night leaving massive destruction and more than 3 million Floridians without power.
Ryan Hall, Y'all live-streamed hurricane Milton for over 10 hours–much of which included documenting the location of several violent tornadoes as they touched ground. It’s hard to say how many lives amateur weather forecasters like Ryan Hall and Mike’s Weather Page have saved thanks to their storm predictions and live feeds.

NC Lawmakers Approve $273M for Hurricane Helene Relief
[News&Observer] North Carolina lawmakers are rushing a $273 million disaster relief bill to address the severe flooding caused by Hurricane Helene. This “first step” bill provides aid for infrastructure, schools, and local elections, along with a match to federal disaster funds. The state plans to pass additional relief measures later in October as long-term recovery efforts continue. The bill also addresses voter access and polling site flexibility in storm-damaged areas.
