PCP Fri Nov 21: Good Friends, Good Times, Great Weekend in Wilmington

“Live music, tasty eats, and time with friends—your weekend guide is here.”

TOGETHER WITH

Good morning Wilmington!

The only thing better than having a boat in this town is having a kind, generous friend with a boat. And honestly? A good friend beats a good boat every time — especially when they’re willing to share both the ride and that first golden light on the water.

Beach Nourishment Project to Temporarily Shut Down Freeman Park

WECT Freeman Park will temporarily close Nov. 21–23 as Carolina Beach crews begin major sand placement for the beach nourishment project. Teams will install pipes along the dunes and move heavy equipment into position before work expands southward in the coming weeks. Sand placement is also beginning north of the Carolina Beach Pier and will continue for four to five weeks, with rolling beach closures expected as the project progresses. Once Freeman Park reopens, beach access around the pier will close and gradually shift south.
