NC Appeals Court Blocks UNC Digital IDs as Voter ID

[The Carolina Journal] he North Carolina Court of Appeals has blocked the use of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's digital IDs as voter identification in the upcoming election. This decision follows a GOP lawsuit that argued digital IDs violate state law. The ruling overturns an earlier decision allowing UNC’s Mobile One Card for voting. With early voting starting soon, this ruling affects thousands of students and employees, intensifying the ongoing debate over voter ID laws in the state.

Tomorrow

It seems that this longshoremen strike will start tomorrow. It’s been over 40 years since the longshoremen went on strike so It’s hard to know just how much this will affect us and how long it would take before we feel those affects. Either way, it’s good to be aware that this is happening. Hopefully the parties will work out some sort of compromise soon.
