Topsail to Wrightsville Beach Hit Hard by Winter-Season Nor’easter

WWAY — A nor’easter has battered Cape Fear coastal towns from Topsail Beach to Wrightsville Beach, causing significant erosion, flooding, and hazardous conditions. Sandbags and temporary measures are proving insufficient as ocean waves wash onto porches and roadways. Residents warn that if a stronger storm were to hit, many buildings could be devastated. Wrightsville Beach closed several beach access points due to erosion escarpments, highlighting ongoing vulnerability along the coast.
