Topsail to Wrightsville Beach Hit Hard by Winter-Season Nor’easter
WWAY — A nor’easter has battered Cape Fear coastal towns from Topsail Beach to Wrightsville Beach, causing significant erosion, flooding, and hazardous conditions. Sandbags and temporary measures are proving insufficient as ocean waves wash onto porches and roadways. Residents warn that if a stronger storm were to hit, many buildings could be devastated. Wrightsville Beach closed several beach access points due to erosion escarpments, highlighting ongoing vulnerability along the coast.

WECT — Wilmington’s own Allen “AJ” Frye has signed with the UFC after five years of training under Derek Brunson at Brunson’s MMA & Fitness. A former basketball standout at Hoggard High and NC Wesleyan University, Frye made the transition to mixed martial arts, developing the discipline and drive needed to compete at the highest level. He’s set to make his UFC debut on Dec. 13 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
