Campus Safety and Free Expression Highlighted Ahead of UNCW Turning Point USA Event

UNCW is preparing for an event hosted by Turning Point USA featuring Promise Keepers CEO Shane Winnings on Oct. 15, ensuring campus safety while respecting freedom of expression. The university emphasizes that the event does not reflect UNCW endorsement, has measures for peaceful protests, and offers support resources for those impacted. Security plans include clear bag/no bag protocols and collaboration between UNCW Police and Student Affairs. The university maintains a commitment to being a forum for diverse perspectives while following UNC System policies prohibiting advocacy on contemporary political or social issues.
