The port strike reached a deal in order suspends their strike until January 15. The deal calls to increase longshoreman’s pay by 62% over the course of six years. This gives the union some time to negotiate their contracts.

Cape Fear Memorial Bridge Redesign: Three Plans Unveiled at Public Forums

[UCNW] The NCDOT is hosting two public meetings on Oct. 8 and 9 to present plans for replacing the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge and improving South Front Street. Attendees can learn about three proposed bridge designs and share feedback. Meetings will be held from 5-7 p.m. at Cape Fear Community College and North Brunswick High School. Public comments can also be submitted via phone ((984) 205-6615, project code: 10626) or email.
