Queen City News Gov. Josh Stein is urging federal Border Patrol agents to avoid the aggressive tactics seen recently in Chicago if they carry out a brief immigration enforcement operation in Charlotte. State and city officials, including Mecklenburg lawmakers and Mayor Vi Lyles, have issued messages reassuring immigrant communities and calling for safety, transparency, and a focus on real local issues over political distractions.
