State GOP seeks investigation over alleged “cash-for-votes” texts in Wilmington race

WHQR — The North Carolina GOP has called for an investigation into claims that Wilmington voters received text messages offering cash in exchange for votes for three Democratic city council candidates. The state board of elections has confirmed it is reviewing the allegations, though the authenticity of the messages remains unverified. Local Democrats condemned both any potential misconduct and what they describe as a politically motivated stunt by Republicans. No additional voters have reported similar incidents.
