City Puts Future of 3-Acre Downtown Property Back on the Table — With Live Oak Pavilion in Mind
WilmingtonBiz The city of Wilmington is reconsidering the future of 3.26 acres at 1001 and 1021 N. Front St. — land near Skyline Center that could be tied to improvements at Live Oak Bank Pavilion and Riverfront Park. City Manager Becky Hawke says planning for the site's future is now underway.
NC Diver Surfaces With a Nearly 7-Inch Megalodon Tooth Off the Cape Fear Coast
WRAL Sandra Clopp, owner of Megalodon Shark Tooth Huntress, was diving 50 miles off the North Carolina coast when she surfaced with something extraordinary: a 6.94-inch megalodon tooth believed to be 2 to 20 million years old. Found in 100 feet of water near Carolina Beach, it’s among the largest megalodon teeth ever recovered worldwide. Clopp — who has logged over 5,000 dive hours, 2,000 of them off NC — says the Cape Fear region is one of the world’s premier spots for finding them.
