Pickle & Taps: New Indoor Courts Bring Pickleball Fun to Wilmington

[Wilmington Biz] Pickle & Taps, Wilmington’s first indoor pickleball facility, is set to open in mid-November. Owned by Jason and Kayse Beasley, the 10-court venue aims to create a community space for competition and socializing. Located on 13th Street, the facility features standard and championship courts, event spaces, and a beer and wine bar. The Beasleys, who fell in love with pickleball in 2023, are finalizing inspections and preparing to host leagues, clinics, and tournaments for all skill levels.

NC Sets Record With Over 4.2M Early Votes, Surpassing 2020

[Spectrum] North Carolina’s early voting has set a new record, with over 4.2 million voters casting ballots at early voting sites, surpassing 2020’s high of 3.63 million. Western counties affected by Hurricane Helene saw even higher turnout at nearly 59%. Including absentee ballots, over 57% of NC voters have cast ballots. This year’s record turnout has been fueled by a strong early voting push by Republicans.
