Local Veteran-Owned Firm Wins $127M Missile Defense Contract
[WilmingtonBiz] Assertive Professionals LLC, a veteran-owned business, has secured a $127 million, five-year contract with the Missile Defense Agency. Running from December 2024 to 2029, the contract involves administrative, operations, and communication support at key U.S. defense locations. The firm, recognized as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned and Economically Disadvantaged Woman-Owned Small Business, continues its commitment to national security and defense operations.

Wilmington Leaders Appointed to Key State Panels
[WXII] Gov. Roy Cooper has appointed Wilmington-area residents to key state panels. Katrina Knight, executive director of Good Shepherd Center, joins the N.C. Interagency Council for Coordinating Homeless Programs, advocating for affordable housing and homelessness solutions. Samuel J. Corbett III, a Hampstead-based commercial fisherman with 40+ years of experience, is now chair of the Marine Fisheries Commission, reflecting his dedication to marine conservation.
