How Ethan Clark Became NC’s Trusted Weather Forecaster During Hurricane Helene
[Indy Week] Ethan Clark, a meteorology student at NC State, runs North Carolina’s Weather Authority (NCWX), a popular weather forecasting page he started at age 12. During Hurricane Helene, he provided detailed forecasts and safety alerts, keeping thousands informed and safe. His dedication has earned him nearly 600,000 followers and a reputation as a reliable weather source for North Carolinians.
NC Spot Festival taking place in Hampstead November 2nd & 3rd

The NC Spot Festival held its first festival in 1963. This year's festival will be held Saturday, Nov. 2 and Sunday, Nov. 3 at the same location, 14221 U.S. 17 in Hampstead. Admission is $5 each day. Free for ages 6 and under. Pets and coolers are not allowed. Attendees can bring their chairs. Spot dinners are $12 and includes two spot fish, hushpuppies, fries and slaw. Beer and wine will also be available for sale. Over 100 Vendor from Arts & crafts to local businesses. Food vendors, cold beer a 2 days of live music.
