WEDNESDAYS TOGETHER WITH YOU
Good morning Wilmington!
Bitcoin reached an all-time high close to $91k and Doge reached 40¢. This should not be much of a surprise since when Donald Trump was the keynote speaker at the Bitcoin Conference this year he suggested that he would help champion Bitcoin and may even build a national reserve of the currency to help pay off US debt. Meanwhile, Elon has made it no secret that he is a fan of Dogecoin.
There are some important things to know about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Here are just a few of them:
Bitcoin has been considered the father of the cryptocurrencies and one of the best for storage of value
Bitcoin has a four year cycle triggered by a 4-year event that’s written into the code called the halvening–the other cryptos follow Bitcoin’s lead and are affected by the same cycle
You don’t have to purchase a full Bitcoin to invest. Just like the dollar is divisible by 100 cents, one Bitcoin [BTC] is divisible by 1,000,000,000 Satoshis [SATS]
There are tens of thousands of alt coins, Ethereum [ETH] being one of the most well-known, Dogecoins [DOGE] is another. Most have different functions and properties.
If you want to learn more about cryptocurrencies, reply back and let me know. If you decide to invest in crypto, the first step is to establish a Coinbase account. Use this referral link and both you and I will receive $10 worth of bitcoin for free.

Public Pushback Mounts Against 4,030-Unit Castle Hayne Development
[Port City Daily] A proposed 4,030-unit development in Castle Hayne, known as Hilton Bluffs, is facing public opposition due to environmental and safety concerns. The project spans 4,039 acres, with a significant portion of wetlands, rare wildlife, and historical trees. Concerns include potential disturbance to wetlands, traffic congestion, and proximity to the GE Hitachi nuclear facility, a designated hazardous waste site with a history of groundwater contamination. Environmental advocates and residents are pushing for the preservation of Sledge Forest and more thorough assessments before proceeding. The development could impact nearly 3,072 acres of wetlands and add significant traffic to Castle Hayne Road, sparking fears over safety and flooding.
