Congress Allocates Over $100 Billion for Disaster Relief After Hurricanes and Wildfires

[WRAL] Congress has approved over $100 billion in emergency aid to address disaster recovery following hurricanes Helene and Milton, averting a government shutdown. The bill includes $29 billion for FEMA, $21 billion for farmers, and funds for rebuilding roads, homes, and military facilities. Asheville, NC, a hard-hit area, continues its recovery with lingering economic impacts. Officials stress more aid may be needed.

UNCW Welcomes Lorelle Hoyer to Lead Volleyball Program After NCAA Tournament Success

She aims to build a championship culture at UNCW. With prior coaching roles at Idaho, Southern Utah, and NC Central, Hoyer’s experience and leadership position her to elevate the Seahawk volleyball team.
