CNN Seeks Dismissal of Defamation Suit by NC Lt. Gov. Robinson

[Spectrum 1] CNN has filed to dismiss North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson’s defamation lawsuit over allegations he made explicit posts on a pornography website, calling his claims implausible. CNN argues it linked the posts to Robinson using detailed account information, while Robinson claims hacking caused fake messages. The controversy damaged Robinson’s gubernatorial campaign, which he lost to Josh Stein by 15 points.
