Gov. Roy Cooper Reflects on 40 Years in NC Politics

[ABC11] Governor Roy Cooper delivered his farewell address at Nash County Community College in Rocky Mount, reflecting on his 40 years in North Carolina politics and his achievements, particularly in education. With less than a month left in office, Cooper hinted at a potential U.S. Senate run in 2026.

$50.8M Gordon Road Upgrade to Improve Safety and Traffic Flow

[NCDOT] A $50.8 million project will widen 2.5 miles of Gordon Road in Wilmington to four lanes, add a raised median, and install safer intersections. Sidewalks, a multi-use path, utility upgrades, and improved drainage are also included. Construction begins in spring 2025 and is expected to wrap by summer 2029.
