Firefighters Sharpen Skills at Cape Fear Community College Training

[WECT] Firefighters from across North Carolina honed life-saving skills during hands-on training at Cape Fear Community College, hosted by the Wilmington Professionals Firefighter Association. The sessions covered essential techniques like forcible entry, ventilation, and search-and-rescue. Battalion Chief Greg Fix emphasized the importance of preparation, teamwork, and the mission to save lives. Proceeds from the event benefit local charities, supporting the community.

Award-Winning Al’s Burger Shack Opens in Leland

[Port City Daily] Al’s Burger Shack, voted “Best Burger in America” by TripAdvisor in 2018, opens its third location in Leland on Wednesday at 556 Leland Town Center Dr. The Chapel Hill favorite will offer its signature fresh-pattied burgers, homemade toppings, and house-made sauces alongside fries, tots, milkshakes, and beer. The new spot features a patio with picnic tables and cornhole, with a grand opening and fundraiser planned for December.
