PCP Thu May 8: 🎯 Your HOA Might Hate This Newsletter

From $39 flights to Sunday markets—here’s what’s happening in ILM.

Good morning Wilmington!

Wilmington’s looking breezy in more ways than one. With new flights coming to ILM and lawmakers checking your HOA's power trip, this week’s news is all about freedom—of movement, expression, and maybe even your own driveway.

In today’s Port City Pulse:

  • Lawmakers regulate the (HOA) regulators

  • Breeze offer new non-stops

Your HOA Might Soon Lose Some Power — Lawmakers Take Action

[WUNC] North Carolina lawmakers are pushing bipartisan bills to rein in homeowners associations (HOAs), citing concerns over property rights and excessive penalties. The House and Senate have introduced parallel legislation that would, among other things, limit foreclosure powers, stop fines for tutoring or music lessons, and prohibit HOAs from regulating parking on public streets. Despite support, Attorney General Jeff Jackson criticized the lack of enforcement power and funding for proposed complaint-handling provisions.

Breeze Airways Adds 4 New Nonstop Flights Out of Wilmington with Fares from $39

Service to Orlando will also double to four days per week. Flights begin in October and November, with special introductory fares available through May 13.
