What a weekend we have in front of us. There are just sooo many things happening in our town! Between all the live music, Ocean Fest in Surf City, Oktoberfest @Ogden Tap Room, the 3 Chambers Fest & the Wilmington Boat Show…then, venture out to Raleigh and you could catch the NC State Fair. Weather-wise, we’re looking fairly good! Comfortable temps with some rain on Saturday day. Keep checking as things can change.

The Gaza/Israel conflict is dominating world news as Israel responds with a brutal retaliation. Biden confirms that Americans were among hostages being held by Hamas–in addition to 14 U.S. citizens who have been killed and more than 1,000 on both sides of the conflict. US dispatches worlds largest aircraft carrier, Gerald R. Ford toward Israe while considering sending a second. Ukraine who?

Middle East conflict comes home as Holden Beach couple stuck in Israel

(WECT) Lynell Gordon is from Holden Beach but has been staying in Israel since the end of June. She and her husband are staying in a shelter while Hamas-Israel attacks intensify. She says many people’s stories are tragic. She recounts civilians crying as they remember loved ones lost, and those still missing after the surprise attack by Hamas.

Adopt a pet

Can you help find a home for these sweet dogs?

My dad had a stroke this past June. We are currently looking for him to move into assisted living. He has three AWESOME dogs that need a new home now. We really want to find them a loving place to go. The two small miniature poodles are a mom and son ( chili and Winston) and would need to stay together. All three dogs are super loving and cuddle bugs. Very well trained If anyone is interested, or knows of anyone who might be, please let me know. And also it would help my family TREMENDOUSLY if anyone could share this post. Thank you so much
