Wilmington's EUE/Screen Gems Studios sold to Cinespace

[Starnews] The EUE/Screen Gems Studios complex in Wilmington, a hub of film and television production for nearly four decades now, has been sold to Cinespace Studios, according to a news release Wednesday afternoon.

As part of the deal, Cinespace also acquired the EUE/Screen Gems complex in Atlanta. A price tag for the purchase, which had been rumored for months but not confirmed until today, was not announced.

Important voting dates coming up!

Absentee ballots will be made available on October 8th, with the voter registration deadline coming on October 13th.

Oct. 19 – Absentee one-stop voting begins (same day registration available)

Oct. 31 – Absentee ballot request deadline

Nov. 04 – Absentee one-stop voting ends

Nov. 07 – Municipal Election Day

Nov. 10 – Mailed absentee ballots due

Pickleball Complex Coming To Castle Hayne Next Year

Tidewater Pickleball Park is slated to bring a 23-court facility to the area. Designed to meet a growing demand for the sport, the complex will feature a restaurant, pro shop, locker rooms and more at 5000 N. College Road.

4-5 year old male Pit Bull

Hammy is ready to find a loving family. Hammy is great with school-age children, doesn't mind cats, and hasn't shown aggression towards other dogs. He may not have experienced toddlers yet, but he's eager to bring joy to any household. He's currently about 40 pounds but should be closer to 50. While he walks well on a leash, Hammy could use some training, and he's making progress with house training. Consider giving Hammy a warm and caring home. Text us if you're interested, and we'll check references to ensure he goes to a loving family.
