IN THIS ISSUE: PFAS Cleanup

FRIDAYS TOGETHER WITH

Good Morning Wilmington!

Few things make you appreciate Wilmington more than arriving back at our airport–especially after a turbulent flight home–just a day after a fascinating presentation by Dave Sanderson on his personal experience as a passenger/survivor from flight 1549 known as “Miracle on the Hudson.” I enjoyed the presentation and my time in D.C. but so glad to be home–and on the ground! If you love our airport like I do, you can vote for Wilmington International Airport “Best Small Airport” with Newsweek. Click here to cast your vote!

NC Cities Brace for PFAS Cleanup

[Spectrum] New limits for PFAS chemicals in drinking water were set by the EPA, affecting over 300 water systems in NC. The Haw River, a major source of drinking water, has seen high levels of PFAS for years. The state has received $29 million to address the issue. Compliance will be costly for some cities, with one estimating $35 million. PFAS, known as "forever chemicals," pose health risks and demand urgent action.
