Coastal Boom: Brunswick, Pender, and Currituck Counties See Significant Population Growth
[NC Newsline] North Carolina's population growth since 2020 is largely concentrated in Wake and Mecklenburg counties, driven by the economic hubs of Raleigh and Charlotte. Coastal and suburban counties have seen the highest growth rates, while many agricultural eastern counties experienced population declines. Notably, Brunswick, Pender, and Currituck counties along the coast showed significant growth. In contrast, several counties, particularly in the east, have lost population due to changes in the farm economy and traditional manufacturing declines.
