Edward Teach brewing incident

[WECT] According to reports on Reddit–the owner of Edward Teach Brewing was allegedly drunk and engaged in inappropriate behavior, including groping a young female musician during a performance. This led to a disturbance, with the owner throwing chairs and making hateful remarks. As a result, Lowes food and other grocery stores have removed Edward Teach products from their shelves. Teach owner claims someone tampered with it’s beer by placing QR codes on their products.

CFPUA Warns Customers of Unauthorized Water Line Protection Program Offer

[WECT] Cape Fear Public Utility Authority (CFPUA) alerts customers about a private homeowner services group's letters selling non-insurance-based protection for water service lines, mistakenly citing CFPUA Ordinance. While property owners are responsible for private side repairs, CFPUA doesn't mandate insurance or protection programs. The utility disavows any endorsement of insurance providers or non-insurance programs and denies collaboration on related research with the company.

Controversial Move: Biden Speeds Up Student Loan Forgiveness, Sparks Political Debate

[WRAL] The Biden administration is set to begin canceling student loans in February under the accelerated SAVE repayment plan. Eligible borrowers, who initially borrowed $12,000 or less for college and made at least 10 years of payments, will benefit. The plan aims to relieve student debt quickly, with more generous terms than previous income-driven repayment plans. Republicans criticize the move, viewing it as an election strategy. The plan particularly benefits community college attendees, offering faster debt forgiveness. The Education Department plans to automatically wipe away balances for eligible borrowers next month..
