Swing Racquet + Paddle: Raleigh Invests $10M in Mega Sports Complex
[NC News&Observer] Construction begins this summer on Swing Racquet + Paddle, set to be the world’s largest racquet sports facility in Brier Creek, Raleigh. The $125 million project, funded in part by a $10 million injection from the city, features 28 tennis, 25 pickleball, and 16 paddle courts, among others. With a pay-to-play model, the facility aims to promote community engagement and youth involvement, offering scholarships and employment opportunities. Biggers Market Expansion Faces the Community’s Concerns
[WECT] Residents near Biggers Market's proposed expansion site express concerns about lights, noise, and traffic. The market plans to relocate and expand to offer indoor sections and more goods. While some worry about disruptions, others see the benefits of a locally-owned market and realize the land will be eventually be sold and would rather it be used for the market.
