Responding crews included Wilmington Fire Department and New Hanover County Fire Rescue, with assistance from others. North Carolina HOA Residents Demand Transparency and Accountability Amid Allegations of Secrecy and Neglect

[NC Newsline] The House Select Committee on Homeowners’ Associations hears testimonies highlighting issues of transparency, accountability, and unfulfilled promises within HOAs. Residents like Sue Hodgin describe limited access to information and minimal public participation in meetings. Meanwhile, others, like William Keller, recount how HOAs fail to deliver promised amenities despite collecting dues. While some defend HOAs' autonomy, calls for oversight and legislative action grow louder. However, officials caution against false hopes, citing the complexity of addressing each complaint within the current legal framework.
