UNCW Library Reopens August 15 with Major Expansion and New Features

[UNCW] UNC Wilmington’s newly expanded and renovated library will reopens today–featuring significant upgrades including a new data visualization lab, enhanced makerspace, and virtual reality space. The library now spans nearly 266,000 square feet across two buildings, Randall Hall and the new Discovery Hall. The reopening will kick off with a “30 Days of Discovery” series and a ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 25. Visitors can explore new spaces, revisit old favorites, and enjoy an exhibit on the library’s history.

Charlotte FBI Session: Ensuring Election Integrity and Addressing Voter Fraud

[Carolina Journal] On August 8, the Charlotte field office of the FBI held an information session to discuss its role in ensuring the integrity of the upcoming November elections. Supervisory Special Agent Kevin Swanson emphasized the FBI's commitment to election security, including preventing voter fraud and protecting polling places. While the FBI respects state control over elections, it can intervene in cases involving federal candidates. Swanson highlighted the importance of partnerships with local and state entities and urged citizens to report any election-related concerns. The FBI does not regulate First Amendment activities related to election results but focuses on criminal violations impacting the voting process.
