NCDOT Gears Up to Replace Three Wrightsville Beach Bridges Due to Corrosion Concerns

[FOX Wilmington] The Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Board voted to back NCDOT in replacing three Wrightsville Beach bridges within 10 years due to saltwater corrosion. The $80 million project aims to preempt potential safety issues. NCDOT plans to begin construction within four to six years and seeks grants to offset costs. New Hanover County commissioner Jonathan Barfield emphasizes proactive maintenance for community safety.
