Wilmington’s Holly Tree Club to Become Pickleball and Golf Hub

[Wilmington Biz] Mike Harms plans to transform Wilmington's Holly Tree Racquet Club into "The Club at Midtown," featuring 27 pickleball courts, a simulated golf driving range, and a restaurant. The project includes both indoor and outdoor facilities, with phase one set to open this spring. A rezoning request for part of the property is pending, with some opposition from current tennis enthusiasts. Despite the pushback, Harms aims to tap into the growing popularity of pickleball.

Local Chef Triumphs on “Chopped” with Alligator Dish

[WWAY] Wilmington chef Nick Chavez won an episode of Food Network's "Chopped," where he showcased his culinary creativity with challenging ingredients like a skinned alligator. Chavez, co-owner of "The Dough House," described the experience as a dream come true, reigniting his passion for cooking. With his prize money, he plans to invest in a new business venture in Wilmington.
