BREAKING: New Hanover Board Fires Superintendent Charles Foust

[WECT] The New Hanover County Board of Education voted 5-0 to terminate Superintendent Charles Foust's contract, effective immediately. The decision followed a climate survey revealing overwhelmingly negative feedback from teachers about district leadership and Foust. Assistant Superintendent Chris Barnes was appointed as acting superintendent. Foust's contract allows for his termination, with the board required to pay his $225,000 salary for one year. The board did not provide a specific reason for the termination.
