Today is election day for local municipalities!
If you don’t know who’s running then it’s probably because your local leader might not be up for election. Here are some local sample ballots:
If you are eligible and wish to vote, click here to check your jurisdictions, polling place, sample ballot when available, absentee ballot information, and voter history.
Know that unlike previous years you will need to provide a form of photo ID to vote. Officials are considering this new ID policy as a dry run for the more popular general election coming up next year.

[WWAY] In Wilmington, Mayor Bill Saffo visited some of the youngest soon-to-be voters discussing the importance of voting.
He also helped those third-grade students at Wiilmington School of the Arts learn about the role of city government and elections.
Mayor Bill Saffo is up for re-election.

Citizens Bank is added to FDIC’s Failed Bank List–5th US bank to fail in 2023
[FDIC] On Friday, November 3, 2023, Citizens Bank was closed by the Iowa Division of Banking. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) was named Receiver. No advance notice is given to the public when a financial institution is closed. Iowa Trust & Savings Bank, Emmetsburg, IA, assumed all deposit accounts and substantially all the assets. All shares of stock were owned by the holding company, which was not involved in this transaction.
