AMC Shutting down

Ryan Nyquist & Patrick McHenry Representing

Good Morning Wilmington
Today was much calmer than yesterday in politics and congress. Jim Jordan threw his hat in for Speaker of the House. Other contenders are the temporary Speaker, NC’s Patrick McHenry and Donald Trump–but I would think he’s the longest of long shots. The way things are right now, who knows!

On the local front, AMC is shutting down, Novant Health is reducing 160 positions–AND if you’ve been waiting for a reason to start your political career, New Hanover County seeking applicants for boards and committees.

If you’re trying to plan your weekend–whether for Oktoberfest or Riverfest– it’s looking pretty nice. We have a chance of storms on Saturday due to a cold front…but you know how that goes. It looks like the front will leave temps significantly cooler on Sunday with a low of 48º!

In today’s PortCityPulse:

  • AMC shutting doors

  • Another local athlete representing ILM

  • Temp speaker is one of our own

  • Seeking marine advisors
