Marine Tech Students Walk Out Over Chair's Sudden Removal
[WHQR] Cape Fear Community College marine tech students protested the dismissal of Jason Rogers, their longtime program chair, demanding transparency. Rogers, who led the program for 19 years, announced his departure after CFCC rejected his application to continue. Students and alumni suspect his advocacy for their concerns may have led to his dismissal. The program's restructuring leaves many students without guidance and worried about their studies.

Governor Cooper Signs 12 Bills, Vetoes One
[Spectrum 1] North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper signed 12 bills into law and vetoed one. He allowed the annual "regulatory reform" bill to become law without his signature. Signed legislation includes $68 million for child care grants, teacher raises, and automatic removal of dismissed criminal charges. Cooper criticized the vetoed bill for potentially harming low-income individuals. He also condemned a regulatory provision as an unconstitutional power grab by Republicans.
