NC Wildlife Commission Cracks Down on Impaired Boating for July 4-6
[FOX Wilmington] The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will participate in Operation Dry Water from July 4-6 to combat impaired boating. Officers will increase patrols and enforce laws to ensure safer boating during the busy holiday weekend. Last year, 159 officers removed 40 impaired boaters from the water. Officials stress the importance of wearing life jackets and practicing safe boating, noting that seven of this year’s 37 boating incidents were fatal.

NC Election Board Blocks Third-Party Candidates from 2024 Ballot
[WRAL] The North Carolina State Board of Elections has denied initial ballot access to third-party presidential candidates Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Cornel West, and Constitution Party candidate Randall Terry. The board's Democratic majority voted to delay the decision, citing procedural and legitimacy concerns. Republicans argue this move protects President Biden’s chances in the upcoming election. The board will revisit the petitions, but this decision may impact the competition landscape in North Carolina, a key battleground state.
